Writer for the Stage and Screen
Susan Burns is a writer and actor living in New York City. Her work has been produced in New York at the People’s Improv Theatre, Upright Citizens Brigade, Creek and the Cave, Q.E.D, Stand Up NY, 3V Theatre, Riant Theatre, Richmond Shepard Theatre, and The Looking Glass, and in Los Angeles at Sacred Fools Theatre, and the American Renegade. Her short films have screened at the Seattle International Film Festival. Susan performs regularly with her sketch comedy group, Sunday School Dropouts. Susan grew up in Seattle, Washington, and holds a BA in Theatre from Occidental College in Los Angeles. Susan owns a stuffed piranha and plays an inappropriate amount of soccer.

MOXIE SKETCH LAB
During the shutdown, Susan participated in a 9 week, virtual sketch comedy lab through the Magnet Theatre in NYC.
Her team, "Cut It Out" performed Friday, March 26, 2021.

Susan was part of a virtual theatre workshop series with Regeneration Theatre in February 2021.
She starred in a live, online production of “Foreplay, or The Art of the Fugue” by David Ives directed by Marcus Gualberto.
This ongoing workshop aims to bring artists together during quarantine and explore ways theatre can adapt during uncertain times.
SUNDAY SCHOOL DROPOUTS
Susan is a founding member of the NYC sketch comedy group, Sunday School Dropouts along with Sam Sutton, Aaron Porchia, Kimmie Leathers, Ashley Carr, and Kevin Allen. Formed in 2015, the Dropouts performed regularly in the before times with shows at the PIT, Stand Up NY, Q.E.D., Creek and the Cave and more.

Remember sitting in the dark in a packed theatre laughing and screaming with your friends and family?
This horror comedy one-act play by Susan was performed at the end of 2019.
